Had a fantastic Christmas this year with all the kids and grandchildren here. Christmas morning could of not been more exciting. With Carson and Jadyn at the age they are, it was fun shopping this year. Did the whole traditional thing with leaving cookies out for Santa and special presents from the bearded man as well. The adults has just as much fun watching as the kids did opening and playing with all their new treasures.
Had a very simple meal later in the day - chili and potato soup. Didn't do the big Christmas feast until Saturday when Scott and Therese were able to join us. Later Ryan, Michelle, Jeff and Erin went to a movie and left the 4 kids with grandma and grandpa. Could not of been a nicer Christmas gift to us. Bathed 3 of them and fed little Kyle some cereal during the course of the evening. The highlight of the whole evening was watching Carson and Jadyn sitting on the sofa reading the Children's Bible together. This was a gift from great-grandma which even made it more special. Just listening to them talking about the pictures and what they already knew, made me teary eyed!
The Saturday after Christmas we all went and had professional pictures taken. I was a little anxious about how it would go, getting 12 of us ready and then trying to get everyone to smile for at least one good group picture (especially the babies and toddlers...maybe some adults too), but it went extremely well. Took some bribery on the toddlers part, but "oh well, it worked"!
Now today, there is no sign of our Christmas together :( Just AWESOME memories!! Everyone has gone home and all the Christmas decorations are packed away. Looking forward to the next time we can all be together.
